Dental Implants

Dental Implants are medical devices made of Titanium/ Zirconia and are surgically implanted in Jaw bone or skull for making prosthesis e.g. crown, bridge or denture. Dental implants bond with the jaw bone which is known as Osseoinegration.
There are various protocols of placement..
Conventional Protocol. First Implant is placed in an edentulous area and then prosthesis is made after variable period of time.
Immediate Implant Placement- Implant is placed at the time of Extraction and then Prosthesis is made after variable period of time.
Sinus Lift- In case bone height is less Sinus lift procedures is required for Implant placement. In this procedure sinus lining is lifted either through the Implant placement region (Intra Sinus Lift) or through a Window made on lateral side of Upper jaw. This procedure will also require bone granules (Alloplastic Bone Grafts).

FAQs - Dental Implants

1. What are dental implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots, usually made from biocompatible materials such as titanium, that are placed into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth, bridge, or denture.

Dental implants may be suitable for people with one or more missing teeth who have adequate bone support and healthy oral tissues. A dental evaluation is needed to determine suitability.

The implant procedure is performed under appropriate anesthesia, so discomfort during surgery is minimized. Mild swelling or soreness may occur afterward and can generally be managed with prescribed or recommended care.

Dental implants are designed as a long-term tooth replacement option. Their longevity depends on factors such as oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, overall oral health, and proper care.

The treatment timeline varies depending on the number of implants, bone condition, healing requirements, and whether additional procedures such as bone grafting are needed. Your dentist or implant specialist can provide an individualized timeline after examination.
